EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION OF SINGAPORE

ANNUAL DRESSAGE & JUMPING LEAGUE 2009/10

Objective: To encourage and reward riders who compete on a regular basis. Points will be given to Jumping riders who are placed in the competition and to Dressage riders who have scored above the minimum marks required. Riders with the highest number of points in the individual award categories will be rewarded at the end of the League year (September to following June).

Definitions

Dressage Horse of the Year 2009

The horse (and rider) combination that accumulates the most points in Dressage classes from September 2009 to June 2010.

Dressage Rider of the Year 2009

The rider who accumulates the most points from Dressage classes from September 2009 to June 2010.   Open to riders 16 years old and above1.

Dressage School Rider of the Year 2009

Open to riders who compete on school horses and who accumulate the most points from Dressage classes from September 2009 to June 2010.

Dressage Junior Rider of the Year 2009

The rider, 15 years old and below, who accumulates the most points from Dressage classes from September 2009 to June 20102.

Jumping Horse of the Year 2009

The horse (and rider) combination that accumulates the most points in Jumping classes from September 2009 to June 2010.

Jumping Rider of the Year 2009

The rider who accumulates the most points from Jumping classes from September 2009 to June 2010.   Open to riders 16 years old and above1.  

Jumping School Rider of the Year 2009

Open to riders that compete on school horses and who accumulate the most points from Jumping classes from September 2009 to June 2010.

Jumping Junior Rider of the Year 2009

The rider, 15 years old and below, who accumulates the most points from Jumping classes from September 2009 to June 20102.

NOTES:

1) Riders must turn 16 years old on or before 31st December 2009.
2) Riders whose 16th birthday falls anytime on or before 31st December 2009 are NOT eligible for this award.

3.   ALLOCATION OF POINTS

League points for the 2009/10 season are awarded based on Dressage scores at qualifying Inter-Club Shows as follows:-

   Important Notes for Dressage  

  • From September 2007 Preliminary dressage classes have been split into open and restricted classes with separate placings and prizes.
  • Restricted classes are intended to encourage inexperienced and amateur riders, and will only be open to rider/horse combinations who have not achieved a of minimum 63% in any Preliminary classes in Inter-Club competitions starting from January 2007.
  • For rider/horse combination progressing to Open classes, points accumulated in the Preliminary (Restricted) category will be carried forward to the Preliminary (Open) category.
  • For computing standing for any of the Dressage league awards, scores from freestyle classes do not count.
  • Combinations participating in the FEI World Dressage Challenge will receive points x 2 based on their percentages in the WDC Singapore classes for FEI WDC Preliminary (junior riders only), Elementary, Medium, Advanced and PSG levels.  
  • For the National Championships, each horse is allowed to enter only in ONE Championship Category, applicable to Elementary and above.

Points for the 2009-2010 season are awarded for placing in jumping classes at qualifying Inter-Club shows as follows:

Important Notes for Jumping

  • Due to having only 5 leagues levels in Jumping, if the rider is competing with their horse in 95cm class and he gets a placing, he will be awarded an extra One (1) point towards the 90 cm league.  The same applies for 105cm,115cm,125cm and 135cm classes.
  • Combinations jumping in the FEI World Jumping Challenger will receive points x 2 based on their final placings in the WJC Singapore Cat B (105cm) competition towards the 100 cm catergory. Competitiors jumping in the FEI World Jumping Challenge will receive point x 2 based on their final placings in the WJC Singapore Cat A (120 cm) competition towards the 120 cm catergory.
  • For final standing of jumping leagues, speed classes, accumulator classes, etc., will not count.  
  • One (1) Bonus point will be awarded for each clear round per class.  

4.   GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS  

  • At the end of the Award League season, the Dressage and Jumping riders with the most accumulated points in the respective Catergories will received their awards at a Special Prize-Giving Ceremony. More information will be released by the EFS at a later date.  
  • A rider can ride any number of horses in the same or different categories. Points however will be tracked against horse and rider combinations including the points for the Horse of Year awards. 
  • In the case of ties in the overall points for a given category, the rider and horse combination with the higher average points per class will be the winner.
  • In the case of further equality of placings, the rider and horse combination placing highest in the relevant National Championship Class(s) for that category will be the League winner.
